Visitors and Guests:

Mike O’Reilly from City of Calgary Parks and Recreation

  • Encourages Tuxedo to sign outstanding lease
  • Financials – still need for 2011 (FCC doing 2011) and 2012
  • Business Plan – he hopes this is still in the works for Tuxedo
  • Elaine Stringer – is community social worker, can help with demographic studies etc, she has a good pulse on what is going on in our community. She would like to come to a meeting. Mike offered to invite Elaine to the next meeting

Board and Committee Reports:

Treasurer’s Report by Bryan Summers

  • Funds are currently tight
  • Strategic fundraising is in need
  • Plans to get TPCA onto Quick books
  • Signing officers need to be updated

Hall Manager’s Report – Harley Shouldice

  • New groups coming in to rent halls
  • May 25th – Hall Grounds Cleanup, please come help
  • We are in need of a proper maintenance program for inside and outside hall
  • Hall Rental plan to be worked on (to forecast future hall rentals)

Communications Report by Shannon Bowen-Kelsick

  • Safe communities meetings upcoming
  • See website for updated event times and dates

Membership Report by Harley Shouldice

  • Using online system
  • Members opting into eNews via membership
  • About 24 memberships renewed via 120 mailout

Social Report by Karen Thompson

  • Planning and volunteering social events
  • We should have 5 plus events, range of age groups, and focus on families
  • July 1st – Karen will plan event

Development Report by Darren Rempel

  • Fourplexes are being forced through development
  • One on 22nd and one on 31st
  • Drainage study communication to community – being handled by Ward 9 Councillor’s office

Traffic Report by Darren Rempel

  • Darren will cover until another volunteer is found

Revitalization Report – all in attendance

  • Facility upgrade, no date for upgrade, need more funds.

Old Business

  • Tammy Maloney voted in as President of TPCA

New Business

  • Ward 9 Update by Lindsay: May 1st – storm water drainage study at Tuxedo Hall. Ward 9 sending out a communication to Tuxedo board and individuals that contacted the Ward 9 office about 1835 House issues like the outstanding Good Neighbor Agreement – Lindsay (Ward 9 office) to do
  • Park Revitalization talks – wait on Drainage Study
  • Karen Thompson – is willing to be Fund Development Chair
  • Current Committees – will follow up with this in strategic plan
