14 New Neonatal Intensive Care Beds

As part of the Building Alberta plan, the province helped open 14 new neonatal intensive care beds at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary. The 14 –bed Edwards Family NICU, named after donors N. Murray and Heather Edwards, will help ensure that the most critically-ill newborn babies get the care they need.

The new unit will help improve access to specialized medical care, reduce the amount of patient transfers, as well as increase the provinces capacity to treat our youngest of patients.

Under the Building Alberta Plan, our government is investing in families and communities, as well as opening new markets for Alberta’s resources. This will ensure sustainable funding for services that Albertans told us matter most to them.
