Ward 9 Newsflash- Free Admission & Temporary Parking for Fort McMurray Neighbours

FREE ADMISSION & TEMPORARY RESIDENTIAL PARKING PERMITS FOR OUR FORT MCMURRAY NEIGHBOURS!

Recreation has approved opening the doors of City of Calgary Leisure Centres and Aquatics & Fitness Centres for evacuees of the Fort McMurray fire.

Until further notice, there will be free admission to these facilities for those with valid ID indicating Fort McMurray as a place of residence.

In addition to this, the Calgary Parking Authority (CPA) will be issuing temporary residential parking permits to Fort McMurray evacuees staying within residential parking permit zones. They will initially be issued for one month, after which, the CPA will reassess where things are.

The permits must be applied for in person at the CPA’s main office at 620 9 Avenue SW. Applicants must provide the address where they are staying and have documentation showing proof of a Fort McMurray residence. For more information head to www.calgaryparking.com or call 403-537-7000.
